5 Loaves 2 Fish

About my Father's business.

A Cleveland, Ohio nonprofit providing meals to people in need throughout the greater Cleveland area — five loaves, two fish, and a city that shows up for its neighbors.

Behind the Name

Small gifts, gathered together, feed far more people than anyone expects.

On a hillside in Galilee, a crowd of five thousand had gathered to hear Jesus teach — and by evening they were hungry. The only food anyone could find was a boy's lunch: five small loaves of bread and two fish. It wasn't nearly enough. But Jesus took it, gave thanks, and handed it out — and everyone ate until they were full, with twelve baskets left over.

That's the whole idea behind this organization. We don't wait until we have a warehouse, a fleet, or a fortune. We take what's already in our hands — a pot of soup, a car with a trunk, a free Saturday morning, a neighbor willing to help — and we bring it to the table, trusting that what is shared becomes enough.

Our mission is simple and it doesn't change: provide meals to people in need throughout the greater Cleveland area. No hoops. No lectures. Just food, offered with dignity, to whoever is hungry.

About my Father's business

Everything we do — the fundraisers, the partnerships, the meals — is about my Father's business: caring for the people He loves. If that's a mission you share, there's a place for you at this table.

What We Do

Three ways we keep the table full.

Feeding people takes more than good intentions. It takes relationships, resources and reach — so that's exactly where we put our energy.

01

Networking & Getting the Word Out

Nobody gets fed by an organization they’ve never heard of. We spend real time shaking hands across Cleveland — with churches, block clubs, small businesses, community centers and local media — building the relationships that turn a name into a network.

  • Introductions to congregations and community groups
  • Speaking at neighborhood and civic meetings
  • Connecting donors with the people they’re helping
02

Fundraisers & Community Events

We host and join events that raise the funds behind every plate we serve — and just as importantly, gather people who care about the same thing in the same room. Good food, good company, and a purpose everyone can get behind.

  • Community dinners and benefit nights
  • Seasonal food and giving drives
  • Sponsored events with local businesses
03

Stadium Partnership Contracts

Our signature partnerships are contracts with Cleveland’s baseball and football stadiums, where a portion of proceeds comes straight back to our cause. Game day becomes meal day: every hot dog, every ticket line, every sold-out Sunday helps feed a neighbor.

  • Football stadium proceeds partnership
  • Game-day volunteer crews and fan awareness

Signature Partnership

Cleveland's stadiums help set the table.

We hold partnership contracts with the city's baseball and football stadiums in which a portion of all proceeds is directed to our cause. The same crowds that fill our stadiums help fill plates across the greater Cleveland area.

If your venue, restaurant or business wants a partnership like this, we'd love to talk about what a portion-of-proceeds agreement could look like for you.

Common Questions

Good questions, straight answers.

Who do you serve?

People in need of a meal across the greater Cleveland area. We don’t screen, means-test or ask people to prove anything to us. If you’re hungry, you’re who we’re here for.

Where does my donation actually go?

Into food and into the work of getting that food to people — groceries and supplies, preparation, packaging and delivery to the neighborhoods we serve. If you’d like a fuller breakdown before you give, call or message us and we’ll gladly walk you through it.

Do I need experience to volunteer?

Not at all. Most of what we do is cooking, packing, carrying, driving and talking with people. We’ll show you the ropes on your first shift and pair you with someone who’s done it before.

How do the stadium partnerships work?

We hold partnership contracts with Cleveland’s baseball and football stadiums in which a portion of proceeds is directed to our cause. Fans simply enjoy the game; a share of what’s generated comes back to us and turns into meals.

Can my company or church run a drive for you?

Yes, and we’d love that. Food drives, fundraising nights, matching campaigns and volunteer days all help. Get in touch and we’ll help you plan it and promote it.

Why “5 Loaves 2 Fish”?

It comes from the biblical account of the feeding of the 5,000, when Jesus fed a multitude of people with five loaves of bread and two fish — a meal far too small for the crowd, yet everyone ate until they were full and twelve baskets were left over. We named ourselves after it because that’s how this work goes: small gifts, gathered together, feed far more people than anyone expects.
